Found Beagles
Did you find a beagle?
If you have found a stray dog that does not appear injured and is older than 3 months of age with no form of identification, BY LAW, the dog must be turned over to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. We know how difficult this can be to do. However, this provides the possible owners the best chance of finding their dog. Dogs can travel miles in a single day and may be found far away from their home. So often, posting signs in your neighborhood will not reach the intended audience. AZBR walks the shelters weekly and receives a list of those needing immediate rescue daily. Therefore, AZBR is able to follow each beagle in the county shelters.
Arizona Humane Society - Stray dogs with some form of identification may be turned into AHS. They will gladly attempt to notify the owner and facilitate the pet's safe return home. They require a $20 fee to turn in an animal.
If the stray dog is a puppy younger than 3 months of age or is sick or injured, you have the additional option of turning the dog into the Arizona Humane Society at their Sunnyslope Facility 7 days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm. However, they are closed on major holidays. They require a $20 fee to turn in an animal. Or, if the animal is injured, call their Animal Rescue dept at 602-216-6440 to have the dog picked up by one of their EAMTs.
